Default Indiana Jones bag - 10-08-2009, 02:07 AM

I have a reproduction WW1 Mark V gas mask bag (the one Indy carries) that I use to hold my Hackintoshed Mini9 on my adventures. I spent two months in Taiwan this summer studying abroad, and the bag worked great. I could throw my Mini9 in, check into the hotel in whatever city we were staying at that week, unload the Mini9 in the room, then stuff my Nikon D60 into the bag for a whole day of picture taking. Several hours and around 500 photos later I'd retreat to the hotel, offload the pictures onto the Mini9, and hit the sack to do the same thing the next day. I've decided I will never travel abroad without my Indy bag, my Mini9, and my D60.

Yeah... my only complaint is that the straps to close the top of the bad arent clips where you just snap them in. You have to feed the belts through the metal pieces each time (or so it appears in the picture).

Dirt cheap too. My favorite quality of this bag

Overall quality of the bag is pretty good then? It's very tempting, but I haven't figured out a way to make carrying around two backpacks work.

I have not purchased yet. I currently have an old bookbag that I LOVE (drawstring top with a flap to cover the top) but it doesnt have enough space to use as a "one bag solution" when I travel. It is a rucksack style bag, so I was looking for something similar. This is what I found at a price I could start to touch I would only get it if I could fix those straps that dont have the clip-in fasteners. I dont want to use the old style buckles.

I got one in black nylon, liked it so much I got a second

They also have a smaller version. Looks just big enough to carry a mini, power adapter and not much else but for those who might want a smaller size but similar style bag:

Does the bailout bag have any sort of padding? Or do you just go with the deal extreme sleeve?

It doesn't really have padding but I feel safe enough with it just in there. The bag is quite rugged and if you've got stuff in the other pockets you've got some extra protection. I do have the dealextreme sleeve and you could use both there's room.
