Currently using a neoprene 7" case logic netbook sleeve thrown in an old brown leather satchel/briefcase with mismatched shoulder strap, Just ordered a "Tactical Bail Out Bag" in OD Green from LA Police Gear it's their cheaper knock off of the the County Comm Bail Out Bag, but CC is perpetually sold out, with black supposedly coming back in soon. I'm not big on black nylon, so I thought I would give this one a try.

my netbook: Mahogany Veneer dell mini 9 with 32gb Runcore SSD; 2GB Transcend RAM; Glow Keys; Broadcom 802.11G card, Intel 5300 802.11 Draft N card on order (with 3 Antennas); Ubuntu 9.04 Netbook Remix; BackTrack 4 Beta Live Boot USB.

The LA Police Gear bail out bag is an excellent example of what I cannot compete with. If I made the same thing it would come out to $200 in time and materials. With an order run I could probably whittle it down to $150 but I could never approach $20.

Heck, if I wanted something like that for myself, I'd still buy it from them rather than try to make it for myself!!

On an unrelated note, I will be trying to make myself a functional modernized kilt similar in design to the Utilikilt... It would still be cheaper for me to buy one from Utilikilt after factoring in the 20 hours of labor, but I couldn't say that I made it myself!!

I first found out about this product from user "ShinyPlastic" right here at MyDellMini, so thank you for the tip!

Just picked up one of these to carry my Mini 9 and assorted gear.

It's an awesome gear bag.
Holds my Mini 9 and all it's stuff with room to spare for my other...stuff.
They call it "Hard Use" gear for a reason too. The thing is made extremely well.

It's been the ideal solution for my needs.
This is an excellent bag - packed my mini, ext hard drive, ext cd/dvd drive, power supplies, usb keys, SD chips, spare parts (wireless "n" cards) into it....and there is still room - awsum bag -

Wow, that bag looks freaking sweet. Kinda wish I saw your post before I bought my Crumpler Skivvy (small) from Rei Outlet when they had their 20% off coupon. The padding isnt superb, but it's more than enough with the cheapie neoprene case from dealextreme. My mini9 fits upright in the bag, leaving room in the main compartment for my mouse, ac adapter, and DSLite w/case. The zippered 2nd compartment fits all the small stuff (cords, adapters, etc). It's a very hip, stylish messenger bag that isn't too conspicuous.

That's what I did ;-) My works for a custom dog collar company and does alot of clothing design/manufacturing when at home, but the cost of the components (heavy duty zippers, D-Rings, Clips, coated nylon, etc.) and the time to make them would be insane.
I dig you sleeves btw.

Let me know how that goes, I would LOVE one of their leather models, we don't even had a good leather supplier in town anymore.

I just got an A90, and while I may get a more carry-alone gear bag later, I needed something before I go away on Wednesday, and got this at Best Buy:

Golla - Twain Netbook Case - Dark Gray - GOLLA G618 (there's also a lime green model)

It was on sale for $19.99 (I got it in the store). Slender enough to stick inside my usual bag, but has a handle to carry on its own too. Also has a split inside compartment for the plug, a mouse and other things, and an outside compartment as well.

Vostro A90 - Windows 7 Home Premium, 32GB Super Talent SSD (GFDL), 2GB G.SKILL RAM, 8 cell 5200 mAh Better Power battery, 0.3MP webcam, Bluetooth

I don't know if anyone else is looking for a sleeve for mini10/10v. Here are some pictures of the dealextreme 10" version. It's a bit wider and longer than mini10, but I consider it a good fit.

I stick my Psyopper sleeve next to my camera gear which I carry in a green canvas bag. Search ebay for "Jack Bauer Bag" and you'll see what I use. I fit my dSLR, two extra lenses, camera battery charger, camera cables, flash cards, lens hoods, mini 9, power supply, external hard drive, computer cables, a book or two, misc knick knacks, a bottle of water, and some snacks in that bag with room to spare. Cheap too (about $14 when i bought it)

I just ordered a bailout bag...although not specifically for the Mini 9. It'll be nice to be able to fit it in there though.
