Default whats a cheap portable printer to use with Mini ? - 02-24-2009, 07:20 PM

it would be nice to have a printer , something that can run off batteries would be great , but also a low powered 110v one that i could use a 12v - 110v car adapter to run ,

Sometimes I need to print a coupon for a free lunch !

any ideas ?

thanks

Beaulieu

just ordered Mini 9 from DELL outlet, 8GB SSD , Windows XP Home, I need to figure out external battery pack and when I get it strip out extra bloatwear, otherwise I know very little about computers and lots about old VWs

There is discussion HERE about the Dell Wasabi printer, which looks like primarily a photo printer. I would check Amazon and Newegg for portable printers, then read any customer reviews.

You can buy quite a few lunches for the price of a portable printer

there are a lot of small printers out there but they use a printer port which the Mini does not have , so it needs to be a USB printer ,

Also NOT a thermal printer , as their prints do not last long in the sun.....

The Wasabi is ONLY a photo printer. Also, the cost of the special paper is likely larger than the typical coupon.

Well, it's some time since the beginning of this thread. Are any ultra portable printers available by now?

The Polaroid PoGo is like £25, 70 sheets of photo paper about £25 too. It's a ZINK (zero ink) printer that prints 2"x3" sticky backed photos, will connect via Bluetooth, and you can just copy pics to it via Bluetooth with no drivers needed to print (so it should be usable on a mini running OSX etc).
