Default Tiny Bluetooth USB Adapter Dongle for Mini - 01-13-2009, 02:52 PM

For those that don't want to add the bluetooth module to the mini this seems like a cheap easy low profile way to go. Got good reviews.

Damn, three bucks? I got ripped off at five!

I'd like to add that dongle is working perfectly under Windows 7 to tether my Blackberry. I was getting disconnects in XP constantly, to the point I stopped using it.

I'm tempted but I still don't have a use for bluetooth (I think). I have an iPhone so I don't think I can sync using bluetooth. So, what else could I possibly do with bluetooth??

by the way i have os x running on my dell mini, if that makes any difference.

Well I just received my tiny BT adapter/dongle from amazon. It is from IOGear. After installing the software/driver, and trying to figure out how to set things up, and finally connecting my Motorola ROKR phone for file transfer....I figured it was too much work for just file transfers. My ROKR has a microSD card which I can just take out and move to my main computer etc. I don't have any other bluetooth devices, but I would like to find a smaller (than standard) bluetooth keyboard to try out. So far, haven't found anything small, other than the apple one.

i think that just adding the bt adapter internally is a better way to go, that way you can keep the 3 usb ports open for anything else

Or alternatively - using the external port for BT leaves that port open internally for an easy internal storage mod.

I ordered one about 2 weeks ago and the price then was $3.38 with free shipping. Only problem is it ships from China and may take forever to get here. Don't know if it will work but for 3 bucks I'm willing to give it a try.
