Default USB speakers - 06-08-2010, 10:50 AM

Hi, I've just bought a pair of external USB powered speakers for my Mini 9, and I think that they are excellent. don't be put off by people saying that you must have mains power for good quality, get a test run in the shop. I bought the small cube ones, neat, cheap and cheerful.

You are right about the sound quality of some USB speakers. I have a set for my main laptop. About the only disadvantage is the fact that they add so much bulk to the mobility of the mini; which is why I bought one in the first place. I find a nice set of Colby head phones compliment my mini when I am traveling light. fdalbor

when I go out I just use a good set of earbuds

I use a pair of Creative Labs ampted speakers about the same size as the pair that Rrfranczak3 uses; they also have a bass, treble and balance controls besides an on off knob and a mute button. Quite alot of control for a small set of speakers. They do sound great though but because of the bulk most of my time is spent with the Colby head phones. fdalbor

Default U.S.B. speakers - 06-13-2010, 01:53 PM

I suppose really that what I was trying to say also, was that the sound quality from the Mini 9 speakers isn't great, but at very little cost, (equivalent of around $8 U.S. here in Malaysia), you can have excellent sound quality, from a pair of neat little cube U.S.B. speakers.
