Hmm - another one-cable wonder. You may have a similar problem. I have the LG Slim which includes a second cable for power if it should be needed (usually not).

the i/o magic designed for dell EXT DVD-RW is a piece of crap. it just does not work like its supposed to. i am returning it to dell after talking to i/o magic tech support for 3 hours of trying to get it to work with no luck. :x i just purchased the iomega super dvd writer from dell http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?s=d ... ll&x=4&y=8

i should not have any of the problems that everyone is having with this one, it comes with its own power supply.

my configuration:
asus Eee pc 1000H
black(fine ebony)
1gb ram upgradeable to 2 gb
160gb hard drive
1.3 mpx camera
10' screen
super DVD-RW EXT writer
windows xp
