bsop: hmm..i never knew that kind of tool was available to us

will give it a whirl when i get home this evening. if the regular root dir is write protected, can virii still infect the MBR of a bootable usb stick?
steve: naw, i've only used it for installing win7, but i recently got infected (thankfully nothing too vicious). and sometimes i dont trust those cleaners and figure that reinstallation is my surefire way of a clean OS..but i'm kinda paranoid of sticking my installation jump drive into the port of a computer i know recently had a virus on it. am i just being overly cautious? lol
wolf: fsutil's part of win7's given tools also? man. i dont fiddle with the os enough

that doesnt sound like a bad idea either. i may do that AND pull a read-only on everything.
oh, and i just realized..installing win7 from a usb stick shouldnt ever need the stick to be writable, since installing win7 from a DVD is from an unwritable form of media as well
