Default Lap Desks? - 10-02-2009, 03:26 PM

Does anyone use one of these? I use my netbook primarily at home on my lap in front of the tv and was thinking about getting one.

I'm going to be keeping my eye out for a cheap one, or a good sale, but I'd like to see what the community uses and take in your suggestions.

Make sure what you buy does allow airflow between the lapdesk and the laptop/netbook. Some things in the market are great insulators and will make you mini boil itself.

I use the 'Lapinator' and love it! I have one of each (regular and large) and they work great. The larger one is great for the 15 and 17 inch laptops. Just put the rubber nubs on the top and there's instant angle and airflow.

+1 on the Lapinator. I love it. My rubber nubs didn't last though, and now I can't find them.

Although, I may try and "build" my own so that I have a mousing surface too.

Here is what I use and am very happy with it. Plus you can route your mouse and power cables through the gap in the middle.

Belkin : CushTop

You can get them at Best Buy for around $20 usually.

Cheers,
Charlie

i saw this on ebay and thought about it. My concern was the height. When I sit with my netbook i usually sit on my feet, and I was worried that with the cushtop it would be too high to type on.

The cables etc don't bother me. Do you have space to use your mouse on? I.E. Is there room on the cushtop to use your mouse when you use the netbook?

Even with my 10" Wind it's slightly cramped, at least it is for the mouse pad, but the mouse is fine, even with a full-size Dell (Logitech.) I'll post a picture once I get home this evening.

awesome! thanks. I googled it and the wind looks to be an inch larger then the mini on both sides so with my mini 9 it should be a bit easier for me with the mouse.

if i sit with my feet down it should be fine to use. I'll have to try and get one cheap on ebay or someplace.
