Nice stand.

Here is one to reuse the coffin the mini ships in.

Laptop Stand Made From Dell Mini 10 Case

Instructables has lots of other cool netbook/laptop/notebook stand projects, as well as lots of cool and geeky, and weird projects. It's one of those sites I view daily, just to see the things people come up with.

The cardboard stand is nice- it'd be cool to cut this out of a more durable/lasting material as well... plexiglass would be sweet. I wonder if there are any laser cutters online that would be able to do this affordably. Since this stand breaks down easily I'd love to do this. Would fit in the bag alongside the mini very easily and could take some abuse.

I bought this for my Everex (known to run hot). I wish I could monitor temps in OSX, but in Win7, it keeps temps at least 10*C cooler - sometimes closer to 20*C.

It fits the Mini 9 perfectly, maybe a bit small for the 10. The fan can be ignored - it doesn't add any value. It doesn't "clamp" around the 9.
Steve (holmes4) - do you happen to have any photos of your mini 9 on this? Or perhaps some photos of how you might package this with the mini 9 in your bag? Just curious- this seems to be a perfect stand to toss in the bag for on the go use, especially if the mini can fit under that curved portion when it is in the bag. Thanks!

I'll take some photos tonight. I have not traveled with this stand yet and it probably would not fit in the bag I use, which is a tight fit for the 9, but you'll get the idea when you see the photos.

Its a nice design with the 9" netbook in mind. The idea of the rear lifting part being able to sit around the netbook when closed should keep the combined size rather small like the pic you posted. Not sure how well it'd work with a 10v.

I just got a 10v, and the stand fits it really well. I actually cut it out of foam core and its been standing alright. I tend to throw things underneath it like my old battery. Its really great for trips cause it fits in my neoprene case too.
