I've ripped our entire DVD collection (with a couple of exceptions) to files for just this purpose.
What software did you use to rip your DVD's?

I got this one from MCS (Mobile Computing Solutions). It's a slot load DVD-RW drive thats 8X DVD 24X CD and powers itself off the USB port. Really convenient for the mini.Front.JPG[/attachment:3gwquwnj]Back.JPG[/attachment:3gwquwnj]

Does it power off a single USB port? Even with the Mini running on battery power only?

Yep. It only includes the external power adapter-to-USB for USB 1.1. With 2.0 you only need the mini printer cable that comes with the drive.

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with this thread.

My drive enclosure will operate using just one USB cable.
(I was using it with both originally, but it's fine with just the one cable)

I'm using "Fair Use Wizard" to rip my movies. It's probably not the best, but it works for me.
