Exclamation dell mini 10v with SL 10.6.3 dual-boot question - 09-25-2010, 03:47 AM

hello, i want to dual boot meego 1.0, i looked at one guide to QUAD boot but it required windows on the mini and all i want to do is dual boot mac os x 10.6.3 (mac os x is installed already) and meego. i made a second partition, got the meego on a usb drive, but i want to know how to install with out losing my install of SL. please help.

p.s i would try jolicloud but i followed the guide but jolicloud would not boot and it corrupted my HDD on my mini 10v

Format 2nd partition to fat, boot usb drive, choose to install, when you get to the formatting stage shrink the partition you created by 2 gigs for swap. Do the install choosing the partition you created VERY IMPORTANT install grub to the partition you installed meego on. reboot and you should get a couple of seconds when chameleon boots to hit space bar and choose OS's. If it boots diectly to meego you need to make your OSX partition active again.

Sorry on vacation so not checking in regular. I would format the partition for meego to ext4 file system. Sounds like meego is taking over the boot priority which means chameleon is not in charge of boot so after you install meego run gptsync and the boot should be chameleon which is the 200mb partition should be flagged boot, hidden and snow leopard should be flagged hidden. Nothing on the meego partition as chameleon will go to grub when you select linux.

Hope this helps.
