Hey guys - I'm in need of some serious help.

I was following a guide to dual-boot Windows 7 and Mac OSX (I have done this before, but since removed windows). It was going pretty well, and I installed Windows with 100% success. However, when I was setting the Mac partition as active, I must have done something wrong. No operating system would boot. So, I figured I must have screwed up somewhere. I booted up gparted from a usb drive, and set the correct partition with the boot flag. Still nothing would boot. Finally, I took the Windows 7 usb drive, and launched recovery console. It told me that it could not launch because it was "not designed for your version of windows". I try and reinstall Windows 7, and it tells me that it cannot because I have a GUID (gpt) file system.

As a last resort, I tried using the utility here http://osx.mechdrew.com/downloads/NBI_083F.img to boot from my SL install (It said to do this in my dual booting guide if I couldn't access SL.) I have booted from this application numerous times, and all that happens is there is the grey apple screen with the loading circle beneath it. It is stuck at this point, and the stem of the apple has a red circle with a cross on it. I have no idea what to do.

I cannot reformat my drive, because it has much personal information on it. My Time Machine backups are corrupt.

Can anyone help me?

Is there a way to keep my existing SL install? Or will I have to reinstall from scratch?
