Default Hide Partitions at Chameleon Load Up - 03-24-2010, 08:41 AM

i recently dual booted my 10v and left the dell partitions on. when i load up my mini Chameleon shows all 4 partitions (windows, mac, and the 2 pre installed on the hdds) does anyone know how to hide the two pre installed partitions so that Chameleon will only show mac and windows?

<key>Hide Partition</key>
<string>hd(0,1)</string>

Hides partition one of disk 0.

What exactly does this mean? Lol I'm not really sure what I'm suppose to do. If someone could explain that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Edit the /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist file (you will have to change its permissions) to include the above key. You will need to replace the "1" with the partition number you want to hide.

To hide multiple partitions, use "<string>hd(0,1) hd(0,3)</string>" (replacing partition numbers as appropriate). Also, be aware that the Chameleon included with NBI 0.8.3 and older probably does not support the hide partition feature... See Chameleon upgrade from v2.0 RC3 to RC4

You may have to change the permissions for the /Extra folder. Alternatively, just copy the .plist file to your home directory, edit it, then copy it back to /Extra (use su).
