Smile Jolicloud Vs. Windows 7 - 03-24-2010, 08:28 AM

The last few months I have been dual-booting Jolicloud and Windows 7 on my Mini9. I installed Jolicloud using 'Express' which was a completely painless and easy install and now have it mostly configured to do most of the things I want it to do. I created a 25GB (using 64GB Runcore) partition to store all media and work-related documents which can be accessed from either OS.

I thought a comparison of the two OS's could be helpful, which I will be ongoingly updating as well as finding out from others their experiences.

This morning I did a quick comparison on battery life.
Running Google Chrome, 1 Tab Open, Lowest Brightness Setting, Wireless On, 94.1%ish Battery -

Jolicloud - 2 Hours 15 Minutes Remaining
Windows 7 - 2 Hours 22 Minutes Remaining

Must say I was surprised by the result, though 7 minutes is a fairly small difference. I have no idea how to disable the wireless adapter in Jolicloud/Linux as you can using Wireless Select Switch in Windows so if anyone could help me out with this it would be a great help.

I'll update this later on today.

Dell Mini 9 - 64GB Runcore - 2GB RAM - Windows 7 - 16GB SD - Jolicloud Beta
