read all the comments after mine, and I have to say that you all seem to have a lot of problems here!!
Anyway, I thought it was obvious to run NetBookInstaller 0.8.4 BEFORE installing 10.6.3, as said by the author too, so that, after 10.6.3 installation, NetbookInstaller can do its things BEFORE booting up OSX (that's why you see the NBI icon on screen for several minutes after installing 10.6.3 and rebooting).
That way I didn't have any problem, but I noticed now and then something didn't go well, I think there still are some bugs in NBI 0.8.4, because after power up happened I didn't have any sound, keyboard assistant went on saying there were no keyboard (though it worked...
), couldn't wake up after sleep (found out it was USB legacy's fault), or other minor things that worked their way after rebooting and no longer represented.
P.s. I don't know if everybody knows about this, but I found out that IF you boot up XP AND make changes like
- disabling wifi
- muting sounds
- (maybe more, but I don't use XP that much
and don't reenable them before rebooting, when you reboot in OsX you find yourself without Wifi as well as with no sound at all... just thought you may find it useful!
P.s. Another thing, with 0.8.4, if you have booting problems such as kernel panics and such, you can start in recovery mode (push anything before timer goes down, place cursor on OsX icon, type recovery=y, hit enter), and OsX should boot with the last extension group that worked (don't worry if something is missing, like wifi or sound or anything, will be back after rebooting), hopefully that way you can run NBI again and/or find the extension that caused the problem and delete it.
@dhyaan, I think you must set chameleon preferences in /Extra (you edit them in TextEdit no problem), to have OsX partition active, and maybe to not have the timer and force the boot up menu to appear as you power up. For seeing just the usb pen after booting on the OsX desktop, it's not a problem, check Finder preferences, and tick the "show HDs" option...
Try recovery before redoing the entire process!!
