hey folks, long time reader first time poster... heh heh. I bought a 10v with xp on it and did the following steps:
1. shrank xp partition
2. created 2nd partition (hfs+)
3. copied custom OSInstall files onto my leopard USB (already prepared) so I could use MBR
4. booted with osx USB and installed SL onto 2nd partition

so, great. ran netbootinstaller a couple times but... i can boot into both xp and sl but only by setting that partition active with fdisk. when I run netbootmaker it only shows me the option of installing chameleon onto my SL partition. even then when I boot the SL partition there is no sign of chameleon. any ideas? I'll keep looking but I haven't found a solution yet though I've been searching... thanks

I was having trouble with that as well... the OSX install would not start. I just got the apple logo. After a bit of research I decided to download NetbookMaker0.8.3 from the code site: Downloads - netbook-installer - Project Hosting on Google Code. I Then went back through the whole process of creating the osx install boot drive and the next time it worked! My 10v is dual booting xp and OSX.

any ideas on the problem?

i tried all kinds of stuff last night. i want to stress that BOTH XP and SL run fine and boot fine. i just have to manually change the active partition flag. i tried downloading chameleon directly and installing it using all 3 methods:
- Install boot0 to the MBR:
sudo fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk0

- Install boot1h to the partition's bootsector:
sudo dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s2

- Install boot to the partition's root directory:
sudo cp boot /

that worked briefly but it didnt pick up the XP installation and so i couldnt use it. any other ideas?

I never uploaded on these sharing sites before, which is why I didn't do it in the first place, but thanks for offering to do this.[COLOR="Silver"]
I never uploaded anything either, but anyway I tried, the only thing that make these things (hacks, cracks, etc) going on are people helping other people, so I'm happy to do it!

RapidShare(only 10 dls available, don't have an account)

ZShare (apparently unlimited dls)

MediaFire (again, apparently unlimited dls)

MegaUpload (Apparently unlimited dls)

Some time may be necessary before all files are available from all sites, but here they are, enjoy!

P.s. tomorrow morning UPS should deliver my new Mini 10v directly from Dell, I can't wait to try this method as soon as I turn it on!!

Did you use 0.8.3. or 0.8.4 prerelease?

No problem at all, glad to help everybody who need that file!

One thing:
as already said in my last post, today I'll be receiving my new Mini 10v, and of course I'm trying (let's say succeeding hopefully ) to use your guide, I've already done the USB pen, I just have to go through the whole installation/netbookinstaller thing.
That said, I read somewhere that everything works right out of the box, like wifi, sound, trackpad etc.
Is that right or do I have to do something more than just running NetbbokInstaller and reboot?
What does and what does not work right away with this method? I don't want the full explanation, maybe just point me to the right direction...

Edit: how can I see my BIOS version, and which one is the best that I should upgrade/downgrade to?

Yes, everything worked right out of the box for me following the step-by-step. Just run netbookinstaller before and after you do the software update to 10.6.2.
