Hi, this is my first posting to you Gurus of MacOSX-Realizers, even though the theme is not the ultra-recent one.
Problem: How do I get Mac OSX (10.5.6) started in bootloader menu.
May I give a short description of my configuration:
Dell Mini9, 2gb Ram, Runcore 64gb SSD
, WiFi, WWan. SSD
partitioned already in 4 Partitions (11GB (ext4 Linux), 4GB (Linux Swap), 16 GB (HFS+), and 32GB NTFS/Windows).
First installed Win 7 ultimate on partition 4, 2nd Ubuntu 9.10 on partition 1, 3rd Mac OSX 10.5.6 on partition 3, the "patched" mbr-way.
Grub2 self-installed (when done automaticly, in mbr?) and found and mounted ubuntu & win 7 without problem, those working perfectly.
The thing is, until now OSX can only be started via netbook-cd (0.8.3). From there it works (wifi is working, but no sound - known issue).
After all I read in various posts and guides, by the last step I obviously have to do I don't want to wreck neither my existent boot configuration nor the access to any of my functioning systems.
Would it be fine to install chameleon bootloader and mini9 extensions from netbook cd, and what happens to my grub2 bootmenu? It has found OSX, but will not start from the menu entry.
As far as I know, Chameleon will reside in mbr as well and thus compete with grub2, consequently not working both together. How do I avoid conflicts?
I need to mention I left a short space of 200mb unformatted in the beginning of my SSD
, but I have already 4 primary partitions. Can I give up swap partition which Ubuntu demanded?
I know a lot of questions - typically beginner - maybe somebody can help me.
Thanks in advance.
