If you're installing Linux into unallocated space: I'd start by creating the partition(s) in OSX (which is guaranteed to use the GPT, GUID Partition Table), then sync the GPT table to the old-fashioned MBR partition table (with hackintosh tools or a utility like gptsync), then run the Linux installer (and install GRUB to the Linux system partition, not the MBR/beginning of drive). Finally, add GRUB/Linux to the menu of your existing bootloader (might be automatic). If you need to shrink the OSX partitions to make room for Linux, I'm not sure if there are any potentially boot-breaking issues to worry about. Update for reference: I couldn't get Moblin or Snow to boot after I installed Moblin.... I checked no boot loader though. Anyway... I reinstalled Snow (Thank God for Time Machine!) and I will keep Moblin on a SD Thank God for Time Machine Dell Mini 10V, N280, 160GB, Snow Leopard 10.6.4 -Totally screwed... |
