I have a copy of the OSInstall file. PM me with your email address and I'll send it to you.

thanks i got it. I am going to try it in the next day or 2. I read the whole thread and think I have a good idea on what to do, but I still might wait to see if someone else does it in the next few days.

That would be me, tonight, in less than an hour. Will let all know how it goes. Wish me luck!

Froze where progress bar was >95% of the way done and then trackpad eventually froze. Rebooted from HDD and it says "boot0: error"

Am trying to boot back on USB bootdisk again and try again. Anyone else have thuis problem and fix it?

I think it made it through the install, but gave the same "boot0: error" message when it tried to reboot after installation.

Any ideas?

I'll either try to recreate the OS X USB boot install drive and try from here or with restored drive. A pain. Thought I was being meticulous and following best practices from all guides.

Thumbs up Successful XP/SL Dual Boot - 03-03-2010, 08:49 AM

I finally successfully completed the dual boot this evening.

OS X seems to be running smoothly, as is XP. Very satisfying.

I don't know exactly what last night's problem was - my guess is that the partition I created last night may have been a logical vs primary partition.

For those interested, I'll post the step-by-step that worked for me over the next couple of days.

Tiring process for me. . .some late nights. But worth it.

I posted a thread yesterday regarding this issue, there are working links to the files you need (I had the same problem, Rapidshare etc have deleted those old links...)

gadget did u basically just follow the multiple posts in this thread to get it to work. I was gonna start my install yesterday but when I read your posts I got cold feet. I might go ahead and give it a try later today especially if u didn't have to do anything that hasn't been already specified. Thanks for being the test case.

Basically, but the devil's kind of in the details. I plan to post a guide this evening, so if you can hang tight, I would advise to wait for the guide if possible. I fill in certain details that I think will be helpful.
