Hi, I am new to this joint. Also am a novice.My Dell Streak 5 says it has Android 2.2. The system update shows an upgrade to 2.2.2 & the size of download is 188 MB. Could not download it with WI FI. I want to know:
1)Is it going to be very helpful if upgraded?
2)Will it be possible to download it in PC & transfer it to Dell Streak 5?
3)If any body has done this upgrade will like to share his experience.Details of how was it done will be helpful.

If you want to upgrade it's very simple but not sure your level of expertise... if you know a little about flashing you can update your recovery image and then go to the DELL Wiki page and download the latest update for your Streak.

What exactly do you men by this? What happened when you tried to download the update?

What software is your phone on now? If you go to menu->settings->about phone what is your baseband version and build number?

The upgrade is worthwhile if only for the bug fixes and security fixes it offers to Android itself.

Many who did update wish they hadn't. There have been questions as to how wind back to 2.2.

I and others are glad to still have 2.2, which works without problems.

Your public library probably has free Wi Fi, but I am glad it took so long to download at my library, I gave up.

You should find lots of mail about 2.2.2 problems on this forum.
