Can someone here explain to me what an EXCHANGE ACCOUNT is??? I went to tap on the calendar icon on my dell streak and instead of showing a calendar it request that I start either a google account or an exchange account. So, what is an exchange account??? it ask for my email information including my password. All this just to view a calendar.

Thanks much for your thoughts on my request, However, its such a mystery to me as to why in order for me to view an actual calendar when I tap the calendar icon, that I must either sign into or create a google account, or sign up for an exchange account, otherwise, when I tap the calendar icon all I receive is a black screen with corporate/google choices up in the left hand corner. From my samsung p1000 tab on to my htc hd7, I can tap on the calendar icon and theres the calendar in full view along with appointments, that simple. I think this google/android can get a bit to personal when it comes to downloading, even opening the marketplace. I left the calendar icon alone since I refuse to be carried through their request just to view a simple calendar. Again, thanks much for your response to me.

There are many other Apps. for calendars with possibly better features, just search "Calendar" on the Market site.

You never need to sign in to the Market, unless you want to download Apps.
