I couldn't find the info on this, but I've now done it myself, so here's the info....
I got fed up of the Dell car cradle wobbling and occasionally falling off the screen. I hate glass mounts.
So I purchased a Brodit mount for my car and also a Brodit 213018 swivel base.
I then had to separate the Dell Streak car cradle plate from the flexible arm. A bit of brute force pulled the mounted plate off the back and then I trimmed off what was left with a sharp knife, to leave a smooth back to the cradle.
I then mounted half the Brodit swivel on to the Dell cradle with small screws and some black silicone for extra strength. I also drilled a hole in the cradle to allow a screwdriver through to do up the screw (to join the two halves of the swivel).
I had to mount this swivel off center due to the space on the car dash. The screws I used were also slightly too long, so I put some black silicone on the back to cover the points. All of this isn't visible when mounted anyway.
Then fixed the two halves of the swivel (the other mounted on my Brodit frame on the dash) and here's the result..
Now no more wobbling and the phone is in a better location and closer to me. The only problem I had with it is that the Dell cradle is too tight which makes it difficult to slide the Streak in and out.
