There is an official "Netflix" App.

Finding the file online for sideloading will yield a file with the device check removed, and once installed, works perfectly fine on our devices. :-)

I discovered that the app." Power Amp" makes a dramatic to almost deafening improvement in volume.

It used to be free, - but even if you do find the "free" version, it has been altered to a "trial version".

But this one is worth paying a bit less than $5 for.

You can select which folder you want to boost using the equalizer you adjust.

So you can be select the SD card contents, a movie, music, etc.

Phone does not need to be rooted.

PowerAmp has a 'preamp' setting and so does PlayerPro. There are trial versions of both. For me it's pretty close which is better. I like the internal interface of Player pro and the lock screen widgets of PowerAmp. Both are worth the $ in my opinion.

Good to hear about the alternative.

After I wrote about Power Amp, I tested it further and found it did not need my needs.

It is fine and ear shattering for music or any audio from any folder, when played within itself, - but it doesn't increase the volume when watching a movie or video from Gallery.

And whilst I am sure there is a way of stopping it, it seemed to play everything within a folder one after the other, with seemingly no way of stopping it.

Perhaps one has to make special play lists.

But I found it frustrating and not very easy to control, - particularly to stop. It just would not stop playing things within the nominated folder.

Anyhow, it has now been deleted.

I particularly need some app. which will boost volume from Gallery played videos and movies.

PowerAmp has two ways to view your music, by folders or using the Android library. You can choose the default in the settings. There are also album, artist, and genre views when you are using library view. You can also turn off auto-advance in folders in the settings.

The settings are extensive in both and you need to go through them all to see what they can do.
