Dell website when you purchase a Dell Streak today says OS1.6 and continues to say 2.2 by years end.
Offical Word fronm the horses mouth.

Just been searching the net and found this information on Froyo for the Streak.

”Due to resources and commitments to get our global customers the 2.2/Froyo update by the end of the year, we will not be publishing another version of 2.1 nor will we be pushing out 2.1 to additional customers. I can tell you that our target date is NOT December 31st. In fact, the over-the-air update to 2.2 is target date is much sooner than that. ”

The site (Dell Streak: Android 2.2 Froyo Update – Release Update : Product Reviews Net) claims that this is a portion of an official statement from Dell.

Loving my Streak!

That is excellent news.

Stop messing with 2.1 and concentrate on 2.2.

Like it matters, the guys on this forum (all due respet) could've released Froyo a week ago.
This year, next year... it'll still be full of bugs cos Dell ain't got a clue when it comes to phones.

I think they're [Dell] in the poo, the only Windows Phone 7 device (Venue) not to be backed by any of the networks!
