Review of Dell Streak leather case from Easecase - 09-07-2010, 09:49 PM
After reading all the reports of damaged Streaks, I wanted some protection for mine. However, I use the Dell car cradle at least four time per day, so most of the time using a case isn't practical. Particularly so when it comes to the Dell case where the phone snaps into the plastic frame. Taking the phone in and out of the case, then in and out of the car dock is just too much.
I therefore looked around for other cases and decided something that double up as my wallet would be most useful and meant I would probably use it more. After all, I generally have my Streak in one rear pocket and my wallet in the other.
I then came across the range of cases by Easecase on eBay. I opted for the E2 style case at £24.99 including delivery from China. They offer a vast range of colours and leather patterns for both the inside and outside. You even have a choice of closures and can have personal engraving on the front.
I ordered one in nappa cowhide brown (both inside and out) with the hidden magnet closure. I got emails from the seller to confirm manufacture, shipping etc. They made it and dispatched it in 7 days. It then arrived 7 days later.
The communication from the seller was first class.
The case/wallet is just fantastic quality. It comes in a white cardboard gift box and then also included a suede effect pouch (pointless, but nice touch). The wallet has stiff edging and padding inside the flat edges, meaning the Streak is very well protected in this case. It has slots for five credit cards with a flap behind for cash or paperwork. This really is superior quality and amazing for the price, especially when you consider the customisation available.
However, do not opt for the hidden magnet closure. It just simply isn't strong enough if you have the wallet loaded with cards and the Streak. It works fine if it has the Streak alone or the cards alone, but not both. Therefore, go with the one magnet snap or none. If I was to buy another one, I wouldn't bother with a closure at all.
If I was to be picky, the card slots are a bit too deep so the cards are difficult to remove if they are pushed down. But this might be easier as the wallet loosens up.
But overall, I couldn't give this enough praise. It is worth every penny and makes the Dell case look crazy money.
