Default iPad seems to have more problems than the Streak - 09-02-2010, 06:24 AM

I got a feeling of schadenfreude by glancing through the posts to the iPad support forum:

Apple - Support - Discussions - iPad

I get the impression that it has more problems than the Streak. WiFi seems especially troublesome for many users.

Wifi has been a bugbear of Apple products for a long time, so I'm not surprised.

Being permanently shackled to the beast that is itunes doesn't help either. I've seen so many people with ipads complaining about syncing and setup with itunes... not a lot of people actually seem to like itunes, but for some reason blindly accept they have to use it...

Yeah iTunes (not judging the new iTunes 10) is a pile of suck. I've now switched to a Spotify subscription for all my music needs.

Please do not send me support requests via PM.

the ipad compared to my Powerbook lmao, its a joke! you cant beat a decent lappy running OSX Leopard

Ipad compared to the Dell Streak for reading for more than 10 minutes? If some one tells you they have wrist ache in bed id be very suspicious of their iPad excuses! I hold my Dell Streak like a paperback book and can read for hours with out that issue.

Aldiko sent me the new beta update of their reader too!

(i was reading the ipad in bed, help post lol)

good on you but how is it for reading for long periods? my question mark was about that too. Very inventive of some to put cushions beside their bed to soften its landing when it falls lol Not sure about the back strap to hold it but if it protects it then its all good!

for me it was a choice between iPad or Powerbook hence my bias lol

I dumped iTunes for Spotify too. Having to cable sync a 10 inch tablet is absurd.

I read non stop on my iPad. On the train, at home, at work, I have no problems with it. It's truly replaced my nook, desktop and laptop.
