Default Charging using 12V-240V Invertor warning! - please read! - 08-26-2010, 06:49 PM

UK - Please read as this could affect you!

If you try charging your streak from an in car/caravan power invertor (12V to 240V convertor) be aware that many of these have poor rectification circuitry and can result in a clipped hybrid sine/square wave being put into your wall wart thus resulting in a pulsed charge signal from your charger which confuses the streak to hell!

I can't test this for USA as my invertors are all 240V UK version, but the three I tried ALL exhibit this trait.

This might sound trivial, but running it appears the streak does not like this and the screen will become unresponsive and jerky, failing to recognise touches, or recognising them in the wrong place and seeing them as multi-touches.

I am using a UK streak in Australia. When I have the Streak plugged into the normal 240v wall charger, it does the same thing.. Just acts a little weird. Screen extra touchy and touches are mis-registered.
