o/ O2 customer here waves in delight!

Whilst I like the current 1.6 (having come from PPC, anything is an improvement) but I'd live to see multitouch supported natively on all apps and just many more things that 2.1 brings us. 2.2 would be better of course, but I'm happy with 2.1 for now.

The 2.1 update that Engadget had apparently had no multi-touch. Although I can't believe they'd bother releasing without it

? I don't believe they said that. However they did say that it didnt have a multi-touch keyboard.

I have seen images/videos of multi touch working on the Streak, so... urrmmmm it does have.

ps.... Post #20 sums this up nicely...

I meant multi-touch support. All of the current multi-touch features on the Streak have been tacked on by Dell, currently multi-touch will not work with any apps from the app store.

From my understanding of android 2.0 natively supports multi-touch meaning that 2.1 (regardless of how much Dell plays with it) will also support it out of the box...

Otherwise it isn't actually android 2.1. At least from my understanding!

Multi-touch can be omitted by OEMS. Not all devices are capable of supporting it either because of the technology used (e.g. resistive touch screen), or because the drivers from the component OEMs don't support it.

Considering Dell made a point of mentioning it was multi-touch capable, if they release a 2.x update and still don't allow multi-touch I will not be best pleased...
