Yeah it's a very solid device. I'm not wincing about pounding the screen at all.

Could you do a size-relative shot (either with your hand, or perhaps directly side by side with the iPhone)? I'm not necessarily against carrying a bigger 'phone' around in my pocket, presuming it would fit!

could you tell me something about the battery? thanks. Engadget claimed that the streak's battery is almost twice as good as that of the desire,kind of fancy. Or are there anything else that you consider buggy?

They batter is great, during a full day of use in the students library (don't ask how I ended up there all day) with Spotify and browsing/downloading apps with wifi all day I still went to bed with 32% battery.

There are various options to lower battery consumption, you can toggle: display brightness/timeout, Bt, Wifi, 3g data, background data and all sorts. There's even a native android app to show you what is consuming your battery!

first things first - i'm a noob to smart phones and Android.

I got one yesterday from O2 website.

I was amazed at how thin this device is (a lot heavier with the battery fitted once you finally get the cover fixed in place)

Superb piece of kit! never seen my stacy keibler wallpaper look so good!
however, I'm really not keen on the hardware interface - i remember having one like it on a pda and it didn't last 5 minutes, especially with the use it will get on this device!

Anyway
My main reason for buying the phone was for wifi internet/GPS and playing movies...
phone for emergencies.
My question is does this phone play Divx/xvid files?
the manual says MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player
I have loaded a variety of clips onto the sdcard but the ones it has found (not all) won't play?
it just says "Sorry, this video cannot be played."
also
The phone takes a while to come off standby - around 20 seconds
and the message
"O2, you need at least 17p credit to use network" etc etc etc
I had to press OK 9 times!

any help for a noob? any questions about the device i'll try to find out.
