Red face Flash Apps Question - 08-28-2011, 10:01 PM

As we all know the Streak came with a Flash version - 10.1?

Fine for playing most video downloads etc.

But there are some videos on web sites that won't play with this version.

There are apps. for later Flash versions.

In downloading a later version, will this update the version in the device, or run as a separate entity?

So, in other words, will a later version cause any problem?

If I were to delete the later version for any reason, would it also wipe out Flash entirely from the device, i.e. the stock version and the later one?

"Iview" on the ABC (Australia) requires a later version of Flash to play previously aired TV programs, so I am thinking of adding a later version Flash app.

Is anyone else using one of the later Flash apps without problem?

I've updated mine to 10.3, works in the same way. I find flash to be painfully slow though, so I don't actually use it.

Thanks!

I don't really need to update it, I was thinking of streaming previously aired TV programs, but I don't think I will.

Instead, I am using my computer to download full length documentaries, with the Firefox add on VFD converting them to MP4. Download speed and conversion at 2.2 MBPS, - so around 4 minutes.

I was using Tubemate to download directly to the phone a few days ago, and with 3G the speed at times was up to 5,300 MBPS, but mostly around 3,000.

Optus can be good at times, all be it rarely.
