Default Disabling Stage UI on Stock 2.2.2 - How to? - 08-15-2011, 07:09 AM

Anyone have a quick How To on disabling Stage UI on Stock 2.2.2?

I don't care if I remove it but I want to ensure it does not load and not sure of all the components that I may need to disable.

Also, if anyone has a recommended replacement Launcher

Stage for 351 here

Stage for 345 here

Those links take you to posts on XDA where you can download the version of Stage for that version rom in an archive. Compare the files included in the archives with what is in the apps folder on your phone. All of those files are safe to remove. I believe that those are the last two versions.

If you want to check first use Titanium Backup or another app that can 'freeze' system apps before removing them.

I recommend LauncherPro as a home replacement. Others to check out are ADW, GO launcher, and Zeam.

Install a replacement home launcher before you remove or freeze Stage.

You will need root to remove or freeze the Stage UI apps and widgets.

You may want to read the threads that those posts are in for more info on the Stage UI.
