Hi,

When I was on holiday & roaming in Spain, the phone crashed, and I rebooted it. After that, it was in 'airplane' mode (no 2G, 3G, or GPS), and refused to go back into normal operation. I tried rebooting many times, turning off airplane mode via the power button, & also via the settings, always unsuccessfully.

Once I got back to the UK, I did a backup, copied everything from the SD card, and then did a factory reset. This did fix the problem, but the question I have is... is there a better way to do it? I lost the use of the phone for several days when I really needed it, and a factory reset is a harsh way to deal with a problem.

The O/S is O2's 2.2, build 12792, baseband 21-EU
