Dell have recently released an updated version of their PC Suite for the Dell Streak which works with the new Android 2.1 Update.

The new PC suite installs right over the existing one, I didn't have to close it or anything.

After installing you must restart your PC.

hi D,
can you let me know if this download worked as Ive tried downloading it and everytime I try to install I get a message saying 'there are no files to download please go to drivers or downloads to select files', am I doing something wrong, your help would be appreciated but try and keep your answer simple as I a total noob.

I downloaded & installed from the above link fine. Seems to be working ok.

Tbh don't know why I bothered. Only thing it could be good for (for me) is backing up my contacts and calendar. But they both Sync with Gmail anyway so kinda seems pointless... If it could back up everthing, like take an image of the whole phone so that if it packs up you can roll back, or even just save my messages! Would be nice.

Try and persist with it a couple of times, nudge it into responding and let it when it wants to reboot (forcefully if needed), I had the same issue initially and aside from the pre-existing USB driver issues, machines that were backing up / syncing before should be able to do so now too.

I've tried downloading the PC suite software but every link i try only downloads under a MB and then stops downloading ... has anyone got the install file they could rapidshare to me or something... TIA

Under 1.6 and 2.1 it synchronises with Microsoft Outlook's emails, contacts and calendar which makes it incredibly useful.

Apparently there will not be a version for use with 2.2 which makes the Streak a pretty useless gadget as far as I am concerned.....

Not to mention synchronisation with tasks, which is really important for me. I can't believe they're abandoning this.

Plus it contains the driver to connect your streak to the PC correctly
