Right then, the lifting end panels on my streak seem to have been caused by the Dell Premium Leather Wallet (the crappy one with the elastic band that Dell refunded me for but did not want back after I whinged that it wasn't as displayed on their website).
The case applies pressure to the very edge of the side panels and effectively tries to lever them up.
After googling various trim tapes (including the ones linked above), I decided to try a slightly cheaper approach as the 3M tape, although probably ideal, was damn expensive and I only wanted a couple of inches.
Using a two halves flat rigid plastic to test I first tried some paper based double sided tape found at the back of the kitchen draw. Good strong hold, but when separated (I still needs to be in case of later problems), it disintegrated and left difficult to remove residue on both surfaces.
Next up I tried a roll of vinyl based double sided tape from the stationary cupboard at work, held the test pieces fine and was relatively easy to remove when the test pieces were pulled apart. I've tried some on this on the streak and so far it is working well. Time will tell if it holds its tack though.
Oh, and I've abandoned the freebie crap Dell case though and ordered a B1 Easecase of E-bay.
