i had the same problem with my first Streak, returned it to O2 to get a new unit, im on my 2nd one now, but minutes ago, i got the same error again! moved the cable a bit then it worked again, not sure what causes this, but i really doubt its something from teh units that we have, cuz i find it rather impossible for me to get 2 defective units in a row.. or maybe im just really unlucky...

You and me both! my replacement unit has now stopped charging/synching. Once again, I've tried it with both the supplier cable/charger and a spare I bought from Dell. I've reset it to factory settings, I've remove the battery etc, all to no avail. It's back to O2 again .

I've got same problem with charging. I think the prob is with the USB cable as it also sometimes wont charge when plugged in to a PC. also the PC won't recognise this device when u want to transfer files.
tho if u r patient, u can get get it to charge by massaging the cable near the 32pin connector. once it starts to charge, be very gentle in letting go of the cable.
bottom line is,... DELL SHOULD RECALL THIS CABLE AND GIVE US A REPLACEMENT!!!!!!

Had the same problem lastnight, it worked fine when plugged into the wall.

I don't think they'll issue replacement as they'll just state to charge , you have to plug into the wall and that the USB port is for data only. But ya never know..

I've got two cables - one extra from Dell. with both previous streaks, both cables stopped working.

I've had 2 charge-related glitches so far; but this is probably out of 30-50 or so so I'm not panicing just yet.

#1 USB cable was secured well enough, and offered the PC USB data connection, but couldn't charge. This was on the same (unloaded) port that I always charge it on as normal, but it just refused to. The charging indicator was on, it just never moved after several hours.

#2 Wall mount charging, the unit crashed/froze overnight on my home screen and couldn't do anything (couldn't even power it off), had to remove the battery. Hadn't even removed the cable yet so it wasn't on a connect/disconnect action.

All the other times using either method has been fine, though 9 times out of 10 (especially since the hard crash) I'm charging through USB to PC cable rather than the wall mount, which suits me fine because I need the unit hooked up to the PC for some hobby development/debugging anyway.
