It seems there has been discussions on other size tablets regarding Tango.

Seems unique in that can operate over different platforms, Iphone to Android and reverse.

Is anyone out there using it.

I installed it, but it takes two to tango, doesn't it? Will have to get a relative to install it too!

It claims to be free - even to overseas and implies this to be the case even with 3G

Seems it works to different degrees with different phones.

I had my my first use of Tango yesterday.

Initially had no success due to Optus not delivering 3G data access sufficiently, so calls did not succeed.

Had success at home, but found using 3G the images of the other user did not flow well, but at least you could see the other person quite well.

Also found with speaker on that the volume was low.

Apparently using Wi-Fi the experience is much better.

And as it uses your data plan, there are no phone call charges.

So, mixed feelings about Tango.

Try it with some friends, and see what you think.

You will need to have your contacts also installing Tango.

But even if the video isn't all that great, you still have the audio only option, which, like the video, only draws on your data allowance, rather than be counted as phone calls.

So, good for contacts in other countries.

I suspect that all other video phone call apps. work with similar performance.

If either party doesn't have sufficient 3G data resources to draw on at the time of the call, the call will not succeed and you will get a message advising of this.

But, if both parties have Wi-Fi, the call quality is alleged to be very good.
