Default Superchips - 01-29-2011, 04:39 AM

if you have to ask you probably dont want to know but i for one am very excited for the summer release of superchips new tuner the vivid

https://www.superchips.com/#pn=home&hps=superchipsvivid

they will also be selling the software "app" by the name of AVID with the obdII bluetooth dongle so our dell streaks will have the capability of performance tuning on our vehicles.

i already have my streak integrated into my truck via my HU (head unit) with my alpine ida-x200. i will be replacing that soon with the alpine ixa=w407

Alpine iXA-W407 Digital Media Receivers (Mech-Less) - In-Dash Receivers at Onlinecarstereo.com

hopefully i can stream my videos via usb into the new HU, my current one reads the music flawlessly. if not i guess ill be purchasing another external HDD. the HU's also charge the phone while its plugged in so one could use gps and not have to fear the battery running out on them. the HU's of today are also bluetooth capable so hands free operation has never been easier. sorry for going off, im a big car nut. well mopar nut but hopefully there are some other auto enthusiasts that will find this stuff exciting.

here is my baby

Very nice truck I am jealous of ur HU setup

At the moment I'm just running from the headphone jack into my rear aux input, although I'm toying with the idea of modding a Slacker G2 dock & combining it with my car holder to provide a one-plug car dock with the higher levels of the slacker dock's line out. Just curious does the usb connection on the alpine only allow you to stream audio files, or does it run all audio from the phone?

The new superchip controller & app sounds very exciting for those running a chipped setup

I'm running a full aftermarket ECU & have often wished I could tune it from my phone instead of a laptop.

Here are a couple of pics of mine...bit different to ur beast but I've always been a small car guy

the HU usb port plays audio and charges the phone. it will show the video folder on my external HDD but it cannot play them as there is no screen. when i upgrade to the ixa-w407 that will play video, im not sure if it will only read mp4 but hopefully it will read .avi.

im anxious to see how the streak will interact with the new HU. but im a litte concerned about the programmer and the phone both using bluetooth.

to answer what i think you asking about " all the audio" i can hear when the phone rings. i dont have the blutooth kit that aloows you to answer and make phone calls with the HU but it is available. the new HU has it built in so ill wait to get if before i cross that road

sweet car btw. i can appreciate the work people put into their rides no matter what style. that is a pretty custom piece you have there

Hey Oklahemi, do you have a bluetooth OBD2 dongle that you use with the Streak? If so, which one do you have? Do you know if you can leave it plugged into the OBD2 port all the time?

Cheers Steve
