I followed the instructions posted in comment #7 of this thread:

An Easy 10.6.8 Update

Unfortunately after doing the update and getting to step 10 and copying the legacy kernal, the machine fails to boot. In verbose mode it hangs at "still waiting for root device".

This is a screenshot of where it fails. The only thing I can do is power it off.

I'd really appreciate any help, as I'm not particularly technically minded and have never had a problem following guides here before. This is the first issue that has ever happened, and now my mini is unusable. I'm also getting it in the neck from my wife, as she often uses the mini herself.
