I started with Leopard 10.5.6 Retail disc, but Snow Leopard runs just as well, is better supported with newer versions of NBM/NBI tools and takes up less space on the mini 9's SSD where space is at a premium.

Since SL was written 100% for the Intel processor there isn't any PPC code that you have to remove using Monolingual.

Mini 9 | OS X 10.6.7 | NBI 20100616212351| BIOS 05 | 32 GB Runcore | 2 GIGS RAM
10V | OS X 10.6.7 | NBI 20100616212351 |BIOS 06|160 GB|1 GIG RAM| 6 Cell Dell Battery
Functioning Hibernation

Back up Mini 9| OS X 10.6.7| NBI 20100616212351| BIOS 05 | 32 GB SuperTalent | 2 GIGS RAM

since I have 3 PPC machines and one msdos os7, the mini9 is the only one that can run S.L.
once I get the mini9 to boot to usb without error, and get OSX running, it will be time to purchase a S.L. disk for the mini.
I see no problem with NOT upgrading the mini past X10.6, as long as it stays functioning.
the ppc are already maxed out on os at X10.5

10.6.x will be the end of the line for the Mini 9.
