Default dell mini 9 won't even get to bios - 10-21-2010, 06:17 AM

I am not sure how she did it by my daughter killed her dell mini 9 running mac os x 10.6.4. If I turn on the computer, I get a gray screen. The computer hangs there without trying to go anywhere. I hit every key imaginable but nothing happens. In particular, I hit all of the function keys and nothing happens. It has a gray system display that remains blank all along. It will not go to the bios. I tried pulling the memory and reinstalling it and nothing changed. I have no clue how to proceed. Help!

Does an external monitor help?

Otherwise, you can try searching the forums for "bios brick" or "bios floppy" (if the BIOS is corrupt, a USB floppy drive might be the only way to recover).

You've started it while pressing the "2" key?.....that's how you get to the Bios on the 9. If that works you could turn on Legacy support and then boot from a prepared USB in order to run NBI.

Mini 9 | OS X 10.6.5 Via USB Mac on 64G RunCore | 2G Ram | Bios A05 | NBI 8.4 Special | Bluetooth | Legacy Off | 1.3MP

Mini 10V
| OS X 10.6.5 Via USB Mac on 160G HD | 2G Ram | Bios A06 | NBI 8.4 Special | Bluetooth | Legacy Off | 1.3MP
