Default Disk corruption - 08-19-2010, 09:59 AM

I have a Mini 9 currently running 10.6.4. On two occasions to date, several weeks apart, it has failed to boot, and upon further investigation it looks as if the partition table on the SSD has become corrupt and the disk was unable to be repaired by Disk Utility. Whatever the cause, reformatting and restoring from Time Machine backups has been necessary.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems? I wonder if it is perhaps a fault with the SSD or whether it is an OS problem that is causing it. If it's the former then a replacement with a (larger, whilst I'm at it) SSD should do the trick.

I've had two Runcore 64GB SSDs die on me! When they die I get stuck at the Grey Apple boot up screen. The drives are then not recognized by Disk Utility leaving me without reformatting options. I've had both replaced for free, so no big deal, but I would like to know if Im doing anything thats causing the failure.
