Default Snow Leopard install dell mini 9 - 08-18-2010, 05:24 AM

Alright so I am trying to install Snow Leopard on my dell mini 9 that has 8gb SSD. I was able to install OSX on my ipod, updated it, and cleaned it out so it would fit on my 8gb ssd. I ran CCC, booted up using the OSX install usb, installed the netbook thingie, but when I reboot it says "OS not found". Any help?

After certain changes to the OS the caches are rebuild at startup, and that may take some time. That should happen only once. If its slow every time -- no idea why.
If also the 8GB DDS has reached the point where a TRIM would be necessary the writing would be slow. Unfortunately, TRIM is not supported by the Dell/STEC SSDs. I heard a rumor that a full-backup---repartition (alignment!)---restore cycle could help for that but have never tried it.

REFUSEDCHAOS, from what I am reading, I believe you installed the OSX software in your iPod, if so, you should have installed the hack to your iPod.
Start your mini from the iPod and then trim it.

The instruction on how to install the hack is given below.

well see it boots up fine and fast from the iPod but doesnt get past the apple screen when booted from the SSD. I left it there for a hour or so and nothing.

I installed OSX on the ipod, cleaned it up, updated it to 10.6.4 and clean it up again. Then transfered it with CCC. Then after booted up with the iPod again and installed the hack onto the SSD
