| Guru Posts: 1,993 Join Date: Apr 2009 | I have a slim LG DVD burner. Slim means it's essentially a laptop drive, and can be powered off USB. I've never had a problem with it on any machine (but I don't use OSX). A non-slim drive would work, too, but it'd be bigger than the Mini and require its own AC adapter. As for OSX, I expect any normal slim DVD drive will work (but not the MacBook Air drive). But I think the included OSX DVD player stupidly doesn't work with external drives unless you hack it, other software doesn't have that limitation.
