Default Mini 9 Overheating? - 06-25-2010, 05:36 PM

I have a Mini 9 running 10.6.2 and NBI 0.8.4r1 and have noticed that it tends to reduce frame rate in video playback (iTunes, Flash etc.) after about 30mins/1hour of consistent play. It feels hot to the touch, and if I put it to sleep and let it cool off for a while, it goes back to full performance again.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Being it has no fans, it may very well be running hot as they all tend to. I'd either have it propped up a little off the surface for better airflow, or get a cooling pad to put under it.
I picked up a $15 clearance one from Office Depot and my 10v barely feels like it's been on temp wise after hours of use.

I agree. You really need a cooling pad, for the Mini 9 or 10v.
I have both, and there was a large decrease in heat with MAC OS X, then XP or Windows 7.
