The space savings is amazing. I'm not sure what I did wrong the first time I set up SL, but i re-installed recently using netbootmaker and 10.6.3 combo update.
After installing that plus, Firefox, iPhoto, VLC, I still have 9.55Gb remaining on my tiny "16Gb" ssd. (It only actually states 15.06Gb to start with)
Thats a significant improvement over my 10.5.6 setup...and this is without any slimming tools!
Performance wise...maybe its faster? Can't really tell, its definitely not slower though!
Sleep/Wake Wifi seems to be a whole bunch more reliable now, plus I like how in SL, the Wifi icon does its little up/down search animation when re-connecting to the wifi, now I know its actually doing something! In 10.5.x series, i regularly had a problem where when i brought the mini out of sleep after a night or so, the wifi would hang trying to search for the network, i was forced to reboot to regain access. I have yet to experience that in SL.
