Default Microphone Problem - 03-15-2010, 04:28 PM

Well I installed Mac OS X 10.6 on my Dell Mini using netbookinstaller or whatever through my Mac Mini which didn't take a lot of effort. Then I came into the problem of the microphone not working. I followed a tutorial on here using some Voodoo program to install and I got an error when finished a register error. I went to restart my netbook and when I did I got an error telling me I need to restart when the Apple logo was loading. I couldn't get it to start up so I'm reinstalling Mac OS X right now. Is there any other way of installing a driver of a sort or am I screwed?

By default, Netbook Installer does not provide microphone support in current versions.

Netbook Installer + Dell Mini 9 Audio with Microphone without VoodooHDA (Snow 10.6.2)

is the best functional mini 9 for 10.6.2. All audio will work after the above.

That's the type of tutorial I followed, I read the replies and saw one that said he couldn't boot his netbook any more.

install normally, then simply update the kexts in the /extra / dell mini 9 extensions folder as per Eligos's post I am reposting here (doesn't want to link nicely for some reason):

iChat now works really well using the built-in mic.

• Speakers work 100%
• Earplug jack works 100%
• Mic works 100%

Note: I removed the one in S/L/Extensions to have no conflicts.

4. Go to /Extra and run UpdateExtra application.
5. Reboot and you're done.

The links seem to be broken. Could someone please help?
