Well have now been running for a few weeks and have found the following - two mini's using 16gig STEC SSD
's, bluetooth, 3G card, 2 gig Ram
1> using std STEC 16gig SSD
win 7 boot = 31 sec OSX 10.6.2 = 63 sec
2> Everything seems to work in OSX - except the internal mic & GPS, one of which I know using Voodoo I could fix.
3> OSX does seem snappier than win 7 (this is direct comparison using two identical mini 9's)
4> Install size is similar - OSX = 4.7gig free after installing essential files only, win 7 4 gig free Win 7 Ultimate. (win 7 has some small programs installed but nothing significant)
5> Sleep is working on OSX - and not on win 7!!! (don't ask me why but OSX pops out quickly - win 7 often just won't come back to life)
6> Win 7 is prettier - it just looks nicer, maybe I'm biased but the effects work and it just has a nicer overall look.
Overall it's hard to say what I prefer - OSX is snappier 5530 card works with optus sim, now I just place it to sleep and it wakes in an instant.
Win 7 looks prettier and is also pretty snappy but I think OSX has the edge on it for speed. Don't like the top bar not going away when trying to use safari - going full screen still leaves top area's but displays correctly while sometimes FF plays up on the edge.
Still while I have never used OSX in the past - it does seem to run very well on the mini 9.
