For 10.5.7, it is NOT better than DellEFI -- not everything may work with the latest Netbook Installer.. an older version of Netbook Installer may actually work better. With 10.5.7, everything should work with DellEFI so there is no reason to go to Netbook Installer if you already have everything working. You can upgrade the BIOS to A05 (or A06 now) if you wish at anytime whether or not you do Netbook Installer first. The order will not matter. A05 can be done using a bootable flash drive Dell I910 Mini/Vostro A90 USB Key Drive flashBIOS Utility. If you still want to use Netbook Installer from DellEFI, check out Transitioning From DellEFI to NetbookInstaller. If you are going to another OS X version, Netbook Installer can be better. If you are going to the latest 10.6.2, you can get better sound/mic support if you look around this forum for the "without voodoo hda" post -- which takes a little bit of effort. |
