Default Energy Saver Settings; Please Remind Me - 01-14-2010, 03:53 PM

I've just re-installed OSX 10.5.8 on my DM-9 using DellEFI1.2a5 method (kid messed it up with an iPhone SDK install). I'm really not ready to deal with the 10.6.x audio problems on this particular machine, so I'm still on DellEFI. Oh well.

I've experienced something with this install that I don't recall happening in the past, but probably has been there for others. My energy saver preferences don't show ACAdapter AND Battery options, I think they only show the ACAdaptor setting with no option for Battery. Was this a known problem that had a fix?

Or . . . should I just go forward to one of the NBBMs, and if so will the latest release candidate be the best with 10.5.8 or should I use the latest final release? If I use one of the NBBMs, will the audio preferences and energy settings preferences have the correct options, which was my original reason for going back to 1.2a5. Any insight would be appreciated.

Yes, this issue showed up with the 10.5.8 update, and as I recall, was the reason for the implementation of NBI/NBM.

There was a work around using a posted SIMBIOS from another user's Macbook, but it had issues.

I am currently running 10.6.2 with NBI 0.8.3 final. My only issue is the mic as far as audio goes. I don't use a mic, so it's not an issue for me. Everything else works fine.

And if you're comfortable editing one file in a text editor and replacing 3 other files you can upgrade to 10.6.2 (remember to run NBI before restarting after upgrading!) with full sound in/out:
