Default Operating System Not Found - 01-02-2010, 01:16 PM

Ok, I've tried all of the methods except for Windows and I'm not really getting anywhere. It's odd because I had this same Mini 9 running OS X until it borked recently. I've reinstalled Ubuntu, it doesn't seem to be an SSD issue but I can't get past the Operating System Not Found error at the beginning.

With NetbookCD I get mach_kernal not found and can't get past that (the image of the NetbookCD never appears and hitting F5 just gives me read errors). I still had my original DellEFI stick so I ran that for giggles, but even that bombs - it runs to boot but I can't point to the USB drive that I restored my retail disc onto. It's almost like there's something that's gone wrong in the bios - I know I'm running the earliest version of the bios (A00) - is it possible that's the problem? I'll try to upgrade it from my Ubuntu install but I'm beginning to think it's a lost war for this mini, sigh, such a nice hackintosh.

I don't know specific BIOS versions but will say that certainly bios version is significant in a lot of issues. 10v more then 9 but....

mini 9 | 2GB RAM | 16GB STEC SDD | BIOS A06, USB Legacy OFF | No Bluetooth | OSX 10.6.7 | NBI 0.8.5pre w/ ALC268 | Broadcom2Airport
MINI Cooper '02 | 1.6L | CVT | Moonroof | Red w/ White Stripes

Want the ALC268 mini 9 sound fix? Get it here
